Listings of Enrichment Opportunities

  • The Center for Talented Youth has a directory of resources for students, searchable by resource type and topic.
  • The National Association for Gifted Children has a directory of enrichment programs for students, searchable by zip code.
  • The Connectory is a directory of math and science extracurricular programs, searchable by zip code.
  • The American Mathematical Society has a list of math-related summer programs for middle and high schools students.

Specific Enrichment Opportunities

  • NYU is running a program a little like CSESS for local high school students called Courant Splash. It covers only math and science, and it meets in March, 2011. It is free.
  • The Center for Talented Youth offers a wide variety of summer courses and online courses for gifted students. Eligibility for CTY programs is determined by testing. CTY programs charge tuition, however financial aid is available.

Financial Support for Enrichment

  • The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers extensive financial assistance and enrichment support to high-achieving students with financial need. Students apply in the seventh grade; applications are due on April 25, 2011
